We are proud to be working in partnership with Unicorn Group to appoint a Sales and Marketing Director. Based in Lisburn, County Down, the Unicorn Group own a number manufacturing companies across multiple industries and distribute products to customers worldwide. The Group has ambitious growth plans to double the business over the next three years. Due to this continued expansion they require a highly commercial Sales and Marketing Director to play a key role in delivering these objectives. We are seeking an experienced, proactive and effective Director of Sales and Marketing to lead the sales, marketing and PR communications for all companies. The successful candidate will drive performance and growth with responsibility for marketing strategy and sales performance. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the company at what is an exciting as part of the executive board.

The role:

  • Develop, implement and manage the marketing/PR
  • Assist in setting the budgets and KPIs
  • Develop real time dashboards and interrogate information and refine sales and marketing strategy
  • Plan, implement and manage marketing and lead generation campaigns and measure results
  • Report on marketing and sales performance against budget at monthly board meetings
  • Develop and maintain a consistent corporate image and ensure that the brand is well communicated across all channels
  • Creation, implementation and management of the marketing plan and activity
  • Oversee all social media channels, strategy and activity
  • Responsible for the creation of marketing materials
  • Ensure company websites and blog are kept up to
  • Develop, implement and manage sales forecasting , targets, sectors, markets, territories and set performance goals to achieve company objectives
  • Prepare and present sales reports detailing sales, potential sales and areas of proposed client base expansion
  • Review and analyse sales performance against plans to determine effectiveness
  • Monitor, prepare and report on marketing communications and sales activity
  • Manage and give direction to the marketing and sales departments/teams
  • Coordinate sales and marketing campaigns and initiatives to achieve business objectives
  • Direct staff, training and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programmes
  • Meet with key clients to ensure relationships are maintained and developed
  • Identify and understand client’s business needs and objectives to develop marketing and sales campaigns
  • Take an active role in a CRM implementation to make best use of functionality. Salesforce or similar experience necessary
  • Coordinate liaison between sales and other departments
  • Develop and manage marketing/sales budgets
  • Maintain effective internal marketing communications

The person:

  • Highly strategic and commercially astute
  • Experience of enhancing or bringing a brand to market (international marketing preferred)
  • Able to work with minimal direction and build upon an existing department
  • A proven track record in establishing a brand and developing it into a household name
  • Ability to develop, manage and implement strategy and plans for all companies within Unicorn Group
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge and application of a wide range of marketing and sales techniques and concepts
  • Enthusiastic and creative
  • Strategic planning skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Strong motivation, leadership and team management skills
  • Accustomed to using salesforce or similar CRM system
  • A degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business administration, advertising or related field is required (MBA desirable)
  • Experience within manufacturing/retail/distribution desirable but not essential
