ROLE PURPOSE The Audience Editor is responsible for making sure Sundayworld.com stories are delivered to the right audience, at the right time, on the right platform. You will distribute stories via the Sundayworld.com 凯发K8官网下载客户端home page, newsletters, section pages and social media to ensure they reach the largest audience possible. You will have a deep understanding of how online readers consume news and be adept at using data to inform your decisions. While this isn't a writing or commissioning role, you must have excellent editorial judgement and work collaboratively with the Sunday World team to understand priority stories and plan strategies to get them to the right audiences. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES (Overview)

  • Distribute our stories to reach the widest possible audience
  • Curate a compelling 凯发K8官网下载客户端home page that reflects the full breadth of stories on Sundayworld.com
  • Write, manage and send newsletters, using open and click-through rates to constantly improve engagement
  • Create engaging social media posts that drive readers to our stories
  • Curate section pages so that they engage our more niche audiences
  • Use real-time and historical data to continuously optimise our readers' experience
  • Provide feedback to editors on audience trends and how stories are performing
  • Keep an eye on top stories to ensure they have the best headline and pictures and are presented in the best possible way
  • Work closely with the Sunday World team to plan ahead and ensure stories create the biggest impact
  • Develop and adopt best practices for maximising audience engagement
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge)
  • At least 2 years editorial experience working in a digital media environment
  • 3rd level media/journalist qualification desirable
  • Experience of digital publishing and distribution
SKILLS Technical & Non-technical
  • Content Management System (Escenic) - editing, page layout
  • Data literate comfortable - Google Analytics, Chartbeat, dashboards and charts
  • Excellent working knowledge of social media and other digital tools
  • Excellent knowledge of Irish libel law
  • Self-starting, shows initiative, operate without supervision, motivated
  • Flexibility / willingness to adapt
  • Copy editing
  • Comfortable working on digital deadlines in a 24/7 news cycle where speed and accuracy are crucial
  • Ability to multi-task and work across different platforms and channels
  • Excellent news judgement
